Assistant Production Artist Department: Product and Brand Services (PBS) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employment: Full-Time Wage Range: $21.63 - $23.55 / Hour Reports to: Production Artist Location: Zumiez Home Office - Lynnwood, WA (In-Office) Effective Date: 10/03/2025 Company Overview: Zumiez is a leading specialty retailer of apparel, footwear, accessories, skateboards, and snowboards for young men and women who want to express their individuality through the fashion, music, art, and culture of action sports, streetwear, and other unique lifestyles. Position Purpose The Product & Brand Services Assistant Production Artist supports the men’s, women’s, accessories, skate hardgoods, snow hardgoods, and packaging artwork production for many Zumiez Private Label and Licensed brands. Job Duties & Responsibilities Develop Product Tech Packs, Artwork and Packaging Specifications for the following: Private Label & Licensed Brand Printables Private Label & Licensed Brand Accessories (Stickers, Lanyards, Air Fresheners) Private Label & Licensed Brand Hardgoods (Skateboards, Snowboards, and Snow Skates) Private Label & Licensed Brand Trims & Packaging Adheres to project deadlines and expectations assigned by the manager that include, but not limited to, the following: Private Label & Licensed Brand Production Deadlines PL Graphic Design Project Deadlines Work alongside the Production Artist and Associate Production Artist to build the Private Label Monthly Printables Pre-Edit offering and ensure cads reflect current graphic trends and printer capabilities. Awareness of current printer capabilities with silkscreen and direct to garment printers. Maintain and organize Artwork, Tech Packs, and Packaging files Maintain Private Label Trims & Packaging One-Sheets Aids in tracking, making comments, and vendor communication for specific product categories Aids in managing line sheets for specific product categories Complete creative projects independently Knowledgeable of performance and department initiatives Collaborates with cross-functional teams and Product & Brand Services counterparts Other duties assigned by the Manager Requirements 1-2 years of experience in artwork production or graphic design Adhere to US Copyright and Trademark Laws BA or equivalent course work in artwork production or graphic design Contribute to the Zumiez culture of empowerment, competition, teaching, learning, recognition, fairness, honesty, and fun Knowledge of the printing processes for Apparel and Packaging Organizational skills Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Experience working with an Apple workstation Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Ability to adhere to established brand guidelines Remain detail-oriented and adaptable while working in a fast-paced environment A balanced mix of creative and technical know-how Able to travel domestically Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to sit/stand in a stationary position in an office environment for extended periods and work on a Mac or PC without limitations. Must be able to distinguish colors and inspect the material on the product.
