Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. This pivotal role involves leading electrical project cost estimation, ensuring accurate and competitive bids, and supporting project planning from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical and construction estimating expertise, with a strong background in project management and contract negotiations. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced estimating tools and industry standards to deliver precise cost assessments that align with client expectations and company goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects using Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate cost projections.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review project scope and negotiate pricing strategies.
• Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and industry best practices during estimation processes.
• Manage bid packages from initial review through submission, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and risk assessment.
• Monitor project budgets and perform cost control analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the development of construction schedules and resource planning aligned with estimated costs.
• Support contract negotiations by providing technical insights and cost analysis.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction trends, materials pricing, labor rates, and regulatory requirements affecting electrical estimates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in estimating processes and tools.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems for commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong experience on transmission, substation and electrical power distribution
• Strong background in construction site management and construction management principles.
• Extensive knowledge of NEC standards, contracts, project management practices, and cost control methodologies.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms.
• Electrical experience combined with construction site exposure is essential for understanding on-the-ground realities impacting estimates.
• Prior involvement in large-scale projects requiring detailed quantity take-offs, pricing accuracy, and risk mitigation strategies is desirable. Working Conditions
