Position Overview:

The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to prepare accurate cost estimates for a variety of residential and commercial construction projects. A special emphasis on Division 9 estimation for projects involving light gauge metal framing and drywall. Projects may be from existing structures to entire projects from foundation to completion. This individual will work closely with senior estimators, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure bids are competitive and comprehensive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experienced with integrating AI technology with the estimating process.
• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment and develop unit costs.
• Develop and present proposals, bids, and budgets for new projects.
• Onsite inspections to be sure the process is conforming to estimates and assist with any potential change order request.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry pricing, building codes, and market trends.
• Track and update cost databases, estimating templates, and historical project data.
• Participate in project handoff meetings and assist with change orders as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers during preconstruction and project planning phases.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of estimating experience in general construction (residential & commercial).
• Understand how to integrate or incorporate AI technology within the estimating process.
• Proficient with Division 9 estimating inclusive of metal and light gauge framing, drywall installation, acoustic ceiling, painting, and flooring.
• Proficient with an estimating software. (same or similar to Togle, Stack, PlanSwift, or QuickBid).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
