Generator Technician II (Diesel & Natural Gas)

Location: Houston, TX 77029 (Pleasantville / Jacinto City area)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25–$27/hour

Job Overview

TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Generator Technician II for a manufacturing and service facility in the Pleasantville / Jacinto City area. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and installing commercial diesel and natural gas generators and associated control systems.

This position requires advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and service diesel, natural gas, and propane generators
• Perform load bank testing to verify generator output and operational performance
• Troubleshoot generator control systems (AC and DC)
• Modify electrical and mechanical wiring, speed controls, and voltage settings as required
• Inspect oil, coolant, hoses, exhaust systems, batteries, chargers, filters, and related components
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve equipment issues
• Repair overhead and bottom-end internal engine components
• Assist with routine inspections and advanced troubleshooting
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience working on commercial generators
• Experience with diesel and natural gas systems
• Broad experience across multiple generator manufacturers
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters)
• Strong communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Safety-focused and detail-oriented
