Shipping Clerk/Material Handler

Day shift

This position provides support for the shipping function within the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist shipping supervisor with matching purchase orders to sales orders. • Prepares bills of lading ; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct. • Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program. • Handles freight damage claims to resolution. • Assisting in counting of physical inventory. • Handles freight damage claims to resolution. • May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records. • Assigned correct carrier to customer orders and ensure is correctly packaged. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Good communication skills. • Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers. • Problem solving and critical thinking skills. • Good MS Office skills.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: • H.S. Diploma or equivalent preferred
