Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Implement programs or activities as directed by the supervising SLP
• Assist SLP with screenings, assessments and treatment of patients
• Complete documentation
• Communicate with patients, patients' families and physicians and staff
• Assist in the general operation of the department
• Assist with development of programs

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Requirements:

• Education : Either an Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a Bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders (or related field) with SLPA coursework.
• Clinical Experience : At least 100 hours of supervised clinical experience under a licensed SLP.
• Supervision : You must work under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed SLP.
• Licensing : Apply for licensure through the Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (OBESPA), submit transcripts, verification of clinical hours, and pay the fee.
