About the Role

Platform Science is looking for an AP specialist to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone to further their career in AP and also gain accounting experience as the role entails not only transactional work related to AP but also cross functional collaboration and accounting tasks related to book keeping and account reconciliations. This remote position reports to an Accounting Manager. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Invoice processing – receiving, processing and verifying invoices from vendors. This includes obtaining the proper approvals based on the company’s approved matrix and entering the invoice into Netsuite with the proper account and cost center information.


• Payment processing – preparing and processing payments to vendors, including check requests and electronic payments. Reviewing proposed weekly payments with the Treasury to ensure funding is available. Process payments on time to avoid late fees and interest costs. Where an early payment discount is offered, process payments within a shorter duration when possible.


• Account Reconciliations – reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies. This could include reaching out to both internal departments and vendor contacts.


• Record Keeping – maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions. Could include reaching out to internal departments and vendors regarding missing invoices to ensure they are entered and paid timely. Ensure all documentation is included in Netsuite – invoice, approvals, other items.


• Communication – Interacting with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice and payment inquiries.


• Reporting and month-end – assisting with the monthly accounts payable accrual to ensure recording of all expenses incurred and in the correct period.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field


• Working experience with NetSuite and Bank disbursement portal is preferred


• Demonstrated cross functional collaboration and working experience is preferred.


• Minimum of high school Diploma or equivalent

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $49,920 and $70,921 . The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
