The Digital Fabric Printer Operator – Textiles is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining digital textile printing equipment to produce high-quality printed fabrics for apparel, home décor, or custom textile products. The operator ensures accurate color reproduction, fabric handling, and efficient workflow throughout the digital printing process.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain digital textile printing machines (e.g., Mimaki, Epson, MS, Kornit, or similar) for printing on natural and synthetic fabrics.
  • Prepare digital print files using RIP software and ensure correct color profiles, fabric types, and print settings.
  • Load, align, and tension fabrics properly to ensure accurate registration and high-quality output.
  • Conduct pre-print tests and make necessary color and alignment adjustments.
  • Monitor printing operations to ensure color consistency, image clarity, and defect-free results.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning printheads, calibrating equipment, and managing ink systems.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues including streaking, banding, or color variation.
  • Collaborate with design, prepress, and finishing teams to ensure fabric prints meet design and production specifications.
  • Record production data including fabric types, print parameters, job quantities, and material usage.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with company safety and environmental guidelines.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating digital printers in a textile or garment production environment.
  • Knowledge of fabric types (cotton, polyester, silk, blends) and their printing characteristics.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with RIP and color management software (e.g., Ergosoft, Onyx, Wasatch).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for print file preparation.
  • Understanding of ICC color profiling, ink types (reactive, pigment, sublimation), and pre/post-treatment processes.
