Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Columbus, OH, for a Fiber Optic Splicer. The Fiber Optic Splicer will be responsible for splicing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cables to ensure reliable connectivity. Daily tasks include handling cables, utilizing structured cabling techniques, operating hand tools, and ensuring the proper installation and maintenance of fiber optic systems. The role also involves troubleshooting and repairing fiber systems when required to maintain optimal performance. Qualifications 2+ years of fiber splicing experience Proficiency in ribbon splicing and OLTS testing Proficiency in handling and working with cables, including fiber optic cables. Test and troubleshoot using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources Understanding of structured cabling systems and best practices in installation and maintenance. Experience using hand tools effectively and safely in various installation processes. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications is a plus. Previous experience in fiber optic splicing or related field is preferred.
