Job Description
Cristo Rey Orange County High School provides a transformative college-preparatory education combined with a unique Corporate Work Study Program. As a member of our operations team, Van Drivers play an essential role in ensuring students safely and reliably travel to and from their job placements and, at times, to and from school.
Part-Time Van Drivers are responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of high school students on assigned routes. This position includes supervising students while in transit, monitoring vehicle condition, and communicating any issues related to safety or maintenance. Multiple shifts may be available, including morning, midday, afternoon, and early evening routes.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely and efficiently drive assigned transportation routes. Ensure students are picked up and dropped off at their work placements on schedule.
· Supervise students in the van, maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Report disciplinary concerns to the supervisor as needed.
· Monitor van condition and report maintenance or operational issues promptly. Complete route checklists and required forms.
· Attend meetings, trainings, and compliance sessions as required.
Qualifications
· Hold a valid California Driver’s License.
· Maintain a clean criminal background and children’s protective services clearance (historical and current).
· Possess a clean DMV record for a minimum of the past 5 years.
· Provide an official Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the DMV.
· Be at least 21 years old.
· Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills.
· Have experience working with or a willingness to work with youth ages 14–17.
· Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills in speaking and writing are a plus.
Typical shift windows include:
· 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM
· 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM
· 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
· 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
